Bad news

Hello,
It's been a long time since we've updated the blog. I'll quickly explain what's happened over the last 18 or so months then I'll update you on the present situation.

Ellie's 18 month chemo treatment went very well. We really couldn't have asked for better.
Ellie didn't miss any of the treatment schedule. There was plenty of sickness, hair loss/thinning, blood transfusions, school missed and tears but she coped very well. Finally on October 8th 2013 Ellie was given her final dose of chemo.

Since then there's been holidays in Italy, New York, had a fantastic Christmas and lots of smiles.
We've had one positive MRI scan but unfortunately just over a year after chemo finished we got a call from Ellie's oncologist to say that the tumour is active and action must be taken.
Following a discussion with Dr. Capra we have decided on a 12 month chemo treatment schedule beginning very shortly.

To say we are gutted by the news is an understatement, we are devastated.

We would like to thank everybody for their support during Ellie's first chemo schedule. A special thank you to Make A Wish Foundation and Aoibheanns Pink Tie.

Back shortly with updates of treatment.

Its been a while

Hi all, sorry we havent updated since Christmas. The time has flew by, wont happen again......promise.

Ellie is doing just great at the moment. We still have the weekly visits to Our Ladys, Ellie's treatment day is Tuesday at the moment.

She is on a three week break from chemo at the moment so its just weekly bloods and dressings for the next couple of weeks. We do have a big week in mid April, Ellie has an important MRI followed the next day by chemo. Hopefully the results from the MRI are positive.

Ellie was one full year into treatment last week, so just six more months to go.

We have a new addition to the family..............we got Gus a few weeks ago. Gus is a Pug and he is five months old at the moment.

We also had the St. Patricks Day parade recently......Ellie, Sophie(Ellies cus) and daddy took part in the parade with Celbridge Boxing Club. We had a great day and thankfully it didnt rain.

Anyway talk soon, we gota go and watch Two and a Half Men....quality daughter and daddy time :-)

Heres a few recent photographs...... <3 love ellie

Merry Christmas

Ellie and the family had a fantastic Christmas this year.
Santa was very generous to Ellie this year. She got lots of Moshi Monster things, a digital camera, Harumicka, a portable DVD player and a number of DVDs.

Ellie received many Christmas cards and presents from many different parts of the world, there are to many to single out so we would like to thank everybody that took the time to send Ellie a card or a present.

Ellie is in great form at the moment and is feeling very well. She is spending her days and evenings colouring her Moshi Monster colouring book.

The Dixon family would like to wish all our friends and family a Healthy and Happy New Year.

We will return to you in 2013 and leave you with some recent photos of Ellie.
